Partner

The first thing you may notice about Craig, if you catch him when he has disengaged his focus from work, is his smile.  It could be that thoughts of his grandchildren are crossing his mind. Or that he has something up his sleeve.

A senior partner in the firm, Craig brings an extraordinary breadth of experience to bear in a number of areas:

  • Corporate Law
  • Commercial Law
  • Banking and Real Estate Law
  • Healthcare
  • Administrative Law
  • Tax Law
  • Estate Planning
  • Public Advocacy
  • Non-profit, tax-exempt organizations

Among Craig’s many competencies, is his ability to sift through complex financial and governmental concepts in order to create innovative economic entities is a particular strength.  One example is his success in organizing the Kennebec Regional Development Authority, a quasi-municipal entity created by the Maine State Legislature with unique powers to provide creative financing solutions for investments and developments throughout Kennebec, Somerset and Waldo Counties.  FirstPark in Oakland is just such a development through which twenty-four municipalities share the risk and reward of increased assessments and valuations.  KRDA provides a phenomenal network that can link investors and developers to resources and leads throughout the State and beyond.

Craig is frequently called upon to consult and lecture on economic and business development and regionalization issues.  He also frequently speaks, consults and provides planning services with respect to assisted/retirement living issues, often as an advisor to developers and owners of elder care facilities.  He is a former member of the National Legal Committee of Leading Age, an association of not-for-profit organizations representing the entire field of aging services.

He also makes house calls.  “As a part of my practice,” Craig says, “I have always made house calls to meet with clients just like my late father, who was a physician, did during his 50-plus years of practice.”
